Raj and his wife came to Eudunda in 1998 after they fell in love with the area. They decided to settle there on a 17 acre block, and since then have started to grow their own produce. They grow their own organic fruit, vegetables and flowers. They also have free range chickens and amongst their native trees and shrubs, the local lizards and birds are also encouraged to make it their home as well.
Raj has been involved in the food industry since 1991, when he started working for an Indian restaurant in Unley. Later he joined Ayres House and was with Hyatt Regency for few years as well.
Raj started Raj’s Taste of India around 2007, making Indian food using good, wholesome, local, organic and ethically grown produce which intensifies the eating experience of his products. Cooking is his passion, translating the traditional flavours that he has enjoyed since his childhood.
Raj wanted to bring Indian cuisine to the locals and teach them how to make their own masterpieces at home, so he developed two different styles of curry pastes.
The most important consideration is having whole spices ground and crushed as you need them. This is because they lose their kick and fade over time, with Raj’s paste he has captured the freshness and preserved it in sunflower oil which will last for a long time. You can open a jar of Rajkotwala curry paste today, next month or in few months you will find the same freshly grounded flavours. They taste the same or even better as he has been told by his customers!
Above all Rajkotwala curry paste are made with sunflower oil, fresh curry leaves from our property, organically grown (no chemical fertilizer used), gluten free, no artificial colouring or flavouring. Made in Australia (Eudunda S.A) with top quality ingredients’ used. An Indian curry in the bottle, so that you can make your own masterpiece.
If you are buying, making curries, buying spices or curry paste or if you would like to start making your own curries, please try Raj’s Rajkotwala Terkari Masala and Rajkotwala Tandoori Masala next time and taste the different style of curry masalas.
