‘My dream is to create something for people to share and enjoy’.
As well as being mum to son Wilbur, Victoria is also the Director of Barossa Valley Cheese Company, head cheesemaker, chief innovator, brand manager and wine maker.
First trained as a wine maker, Victoria spent a season making wine in Bordeaux. It was here whilst absorbing the region’s way of life and regard for food and wine that she found a new passion – cheese. She learnt the art of cheesemaking and brought her new found skills home to the Barossa.
In 2004, Barossa Valley Cheese Company opened its doors in Angaston, rapidly claiming its place within the region’s celebrated wine and food culture.
With 25 different cheeses on offer the awards have been prolific but Victoria insists the BVCC will not stray from its artisan ethos and become an industrialised factory.
‘We will always be an artisan producer, sourcing milk from local dairies and creating cheese imbued with the character of the locale and passion of the maker.’
The BVCC offers a range of both cows and goat milk cheeses.
You can find The Barossa Valley Cheese Company products @ The Dairy Tree Stall every Saturday. Keep up to date with the stall on both Facebook and Instagram @thedairytree.au
